POINT FIRE OFFICIAL APPOINTED TO STATE BOARD
Assistant
Fire Chief Donnie West with the Center Point Fire District was recently
appointed by Governor Bob Riley to serve on the newly created Alabama Energy
and Residential Code Board created by Act 2010-185. The
seventeen member board is made up of representatives from the Alabama
Home Builders Association, Board of General Contractors, Heating & Air Conditioning Board, Electrical Utility
Industry, Rural Electric Cooperative Industry, Natural Gas Industry, Licensed
Professional Engineers, Municipalities, County Government, American Institute
of Architects, Alabama Liquefied Petroleum Gas Board, International Code
Council (ICC), Home Builders Licensure Board, Alabama Joint Fire Council,
Property and Casualty Insurance Industry, State Senate Member, House of
Representatives Member.
The focus
of the new Energy and Residential Code Board will be to create a process for
the adoption of state-wide Energy and Residential Code for the protection of
the economic and environmental values for the citizens of
